Idol Plots Summer Concert Run

You won’t catch Billy Idol slacking once his European tour finishes. The onetime Generation X band member has lined up a North American outing beginning Aug. 5 in the Pacific Northwest.

Idol, who plays Switzerland’s Thursday night, officially begins his European tour June 5 in Moscow and will perform at various venues and festivals on the continent through July 12 when he lands in Amsterdam for a gig at the Paradiso.

Less than one month later, Idol begins his North American tour in the great state of Washington at the Tulalip Amphitheatre Aug. 5, plays Roseburg, Ore., at the Douglas County Fair Aug. 7; hits Reno’s Grand Sierra Resort & Casino Aug. 8 and stops in Temecula, Ca., for two nights at the Pechanga Resort & Casino Aug. 11 and 13.

Other cities on the schedule include Hollywood (Aug. 14), San Francisco (Aug. 17), Las Vegas (Aug. 21), Houston (Aug. 25), Atlanta (Aug. 29), Chicago (Sept. 8), Montreal (Sept. 12), Boston (Sept. 14) and New York City (Sept. 15).

Joining Idol will be his longtime guitarist Steve Stevens as well as Stephen McGrath on bass and Derek Sherinian on keyboards. Idol also has a few new bandmates – guitarist Billy Morrison and drummer Jeremy Colson. For more information, please click here for Idol’s Web site.
