Galante To Leave Sony Nashville

Joe Galante, Sony Music Nashville chairman and all-around music vet, will be leaving the company, and is replaced by EMI Music Publishing Nashville’s Gary Overton.

Galante will remain a consultant during the transition period, according to a statement from the company.

“This is solely my decision and I’m excited to being my journey down another road,” Galante said in a statement. “Nashville is my home and will continue to be.”

Galante began his career at RCA Records in 1971 and became the youngest man to ever run a major label when he was named head of RCA Nashville in 1982.
