Lyric Street Shutters

The Walt Disney Co. says it is closing its Nashville-based Lyric Street Records and will transition Rascal Flatts to another Disney label.

Disney informed the label’s 25 staff members of its plan April 14.

“Lyric Street is no more, sad day, lots of good friend and memories there,” Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus tweeted. “The future is uncertain but bright.”

Artists on Lyric Street include Kevin Fowler, Bucky Covington, Love and Theft, SHeDAISY and Ruby Summer.
