Omni, the follow-up to 2007’s Planet of Ice, is set for release May 4 on Dangerbird Records. The album was produced by Grammy Award-wining producer Joe Chiccarelli, who has worked with artists including The White Stripes and My Morning Jacket.

Fans can check out Omni in its entirety beginning April 19 through May 18 by clicking over to the “Album Preview” page on KCRW 88.9 FM’s website.

The band’s fourth full-length album is described as “a slinky and sensual collection of songs that meld city-stomping rock, electro-pop and deep funk grooves. Boldly experimental yet instantly accessible, Omni is arguably Minus the Bear’s most provocative and potent work to date.”

Minus the Bear is also offering fans the first single, “My Time,” as a free download through its official website.

The spring headlining tour begins tonight at the Knitting Factory Concert House in Spokane, Wash., with dates booked through the band’s May 29 slot at this year’s edition of the Sasquatch! Music Festival at the Gorge Amphitheatre in Quincy, Wash.

Additional shows include Newport Music Hall in Columbus, Ohio (April 26), Wilbur Theatre in Boston (May 5), 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. (May 7), La Zona Rosa in Austin, Texas (May 16), House of Blues in Las Vegas (May 19) and Mayan Theatre in Los Angeles (May 20).
