Coachella Inks Polo Grounds Contract

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival has faced its share of peaks and valleys over the years, but a new lease agreement with the owner of the Empire Polo Fields has cemented the festival’s place in the desert town of Indio, Calif., for at least the next decade.

Polo fields owner Alexander Haagen III recently told the Los Angeles Times that with the long-term agreement, upgrades will be made to the site’s landscaping, roadways, and electrical systems.

The festival added parking and camping spaces this year, and Haagen noted the venue will host additional one-off shows, such as Phish Festival 8 last October, moving forward.
