DeRo On The Go

Jim DeRogatis, longtime pop music critic and columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times, has left the paper to join the English Department faculty of Columbia College Chicago and become a blogger for Vocalo.org.

In a statement released through the college he said: “After 15 years at Chicago’s best daily newspaper, I am thrilled to have been offered the opportunity and the challenge to help guide those students, whose diverse interests, rampant love of the arts, and pervasive enthusiasm have been unmatched at any other school I’ve ever visited.”

At Vocalo.org, DeRo will write a daily “PopNStuff” blog beginning June 1. He will continue his nationally syndicated “Sound Opinions” radio show on Chicago Public Radio.
