Possible College Hate Crime

Campus police at Western Connecticut State University reported April 19 that a noose was discovered hanging above the stage at the college’s 3,500-capacity Ives Concert Park amphitheatre.

Authorities could not determine how long the noose had been there because the facility is closed during the winter months.

However, state law makes the action a bias crime.

Authorities were already seeking a male suspect, possibly a juvenile, who was discovered burglarizing a campus building April 17.
