Last year, Reed completed work on a re-mastered version of MMM, which has been regarded over the years as either a joke, a flip of the bird to his record label or a work of genius way ahead of its time.

The new version of the record hit the streets in February as a 180 gram vinyl double gatefold LP, an audio DVD and a Blu-Ray disc, with 180 gram vinyl + Blue-Ray and 180 gram vinyl + audio DVD packages also available.

To mark the occasion of the overseas re-issue of an album that the 1979 “Rolling Stone Record Guide” called “a two-disc set consisting of nothing more than ear-wrecking electronic sludge, guaranteed to clear any room of humans in record time,” the singer has been out on a U.K. and European tour that wraps at the end of the month.

Because it’s one of the great mysteries of rock ‘n’ roll, Reed has – with good reason – been besieged with questions about MMM. To clear up some of the misconceptions about the album, the singer recently sat down with BBC 6 Music Radio to talk extensively about it.

That conversation is now available as an exclusive 15-minute podcast which can be downloaded from BBC.co.uk/6music.

And just in case you’re curious – and feeling especially brave – here’s a link to Reed’s website, where you can sample an audio clip from MMM. Good luck.
