Aventura Plans June, July Run

The top selling Latin music group of the year does not come from Mexico, Puerto Rico, or even South America. Instead, Aventura hails from The Bronx and has even more dates to add to its incredibly successful tour.

Successful as in four sold-out shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden earlier this year as well as a triple-platinum status for the group’s 2009 effort, The Last. It doesn’t get much better than this.

How big is Aventura? That is other than dominating record charts and selling out 20,000-seat arenas? Even the somewhat unflappable New York Times described the group’s MSG shows as “an ecstatic triumph, three hours of easy seduction.”

Aventura, which combines R&B and hip-hop with traditional Dominican Bachata music, serves up a second helping of U.S. dates beginning in Kansas City at the Sprint Center June 17. Other stops include Fresno, Calif., at the Save Mart Center June 20; Anaheim at the Honda Center June 23; Houston at the Toyota Center July 1 and Charlotte at the Bojangles Coliseum July 8.

Last stop is E. Rutherford, N.J., at the Izod Center. For more info, click here for the Aventura website.
