Heaven & Hell Euro Tour Canceled

Citing singer Ronnie James Dio’s health, Heaven And Hell has called off its 2010 European tour.

The band, consisting of Black Sabbath members Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler along with former Sabbath kin Dio and Vinny Appice, was scheduled to begin its European tour June 18 in Switzerland and had dates through August.

The bad news was announced on Iommi’s website.

“We have to announce that all forthcoming Heaven And Hell European shows have been canceled as sadly Ronnie isn’t well enough to tour this summer. We hope that everyone understands and want to thank fans and industry colleagues for their continuing support at this time.”

Wendy Dio announced last November that her husband has stomach cancer, a development that caused the cancellation of the singer’s United Kingdom tour. The most recent message posted on RonnieJamesDio.com regarding the singer’s condition went up March 12.

“Well, now it has been Ronnie’s 7th chemo, another cat scan and another endoscopy, and the results are good – the main tumor has shrunk considerably, and our visits to Houston are now every three weeks instead of every two weeks.”
