Zoo Fest Promoter Fined
Peter Rowe, promoter of South Australia’s disastrous “Live At The Zoo” festival, and his company Avalon Promotions were fined $5,000 for breaching liquor and licensing laws.
Rowe, a first-time promoter, blamed a U.S. promoter he hired for problems including sub-standard facilities, staff walkouts and drug overdoses that plagued the event over the Easter 2009 weekend.
Rowe says he lost $700,000 in the venture.
In another court session, Sydney club DJ Scott Pullen pleaded not guilty to assaulting fellow DJ Kate Monroe at a nightclub.
The two were close associates but recently had a falling out.
The case is delayed until July 29 when the judge can see video of the alleged incident.
