Maroon 5’s Hands-On Approach

The new album is helmed by star producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange, known for his work on some of rock’s finest albums, including discs by AC/DC, The Cars and Def Leppard. Lange had heard the band was writing material for what would be the group’s third album, and immediately offered his services.

“We didn’t even talk to anyone else,” Maroon 5’s Adam Levine said. “Mutt is undeniably one of the most success producers who’s ever lived.”

It just isn’t frontman Levine singing Lange’s praises.

“Mutt really helped us play to the best of our ability,” said keyboardist Jesse Carmichael. “And it drove us to be bigger and better than ever.”

The tour launches July 30 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., at the Performing Arts Center. Other stops include Gilford, N.H., at the Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion July 31; Uncasville, Conn., at Mohegan Sun Arena Aug. 4; Toronto at Molson Canadian Amphitheatre Aug. 4 and Clarkston, Mich., at DTE Energy Music Theatre Aug. 5.

You can also see Maroon 5 just outside Indianapolis in Noblesville (Aug. 6), Canandaigua, N.Y. (Aug. 7), Mansfield, Mass. (Aug. 10), Wantagh, N.Y. (Aug. 11), Bristow, Va. (Aug. 13), Holmdel, N.J. (Aug. 15), Miami (Aug. 19), Alpharetta, Ga. (Aug. 21) and Davidson, N.C. (Aug. 24). Last show is in Pittsburgh at the Trib Total Media Amphitheatre At Station Square Aug. 29.

The band also has lined up some pretty impressive special guests to accompany them on this outing. Guster appears July 30-Aug. 1; Ry Cuming July 30-Aug. 4, Owl City Aug. 4-15; VV Brown Aug. 5-29 and Kris Allen Aug. 19-29.
