Zac Brown Band Launches ‘Letters For Lyrics’

On Friday Zac Brown Band, along with Ram Truck Brand, officially launched its “Letters for Lyrics” campaign, encouraging fans to take pen to paper to help write 1 million letters for U.S. troops station abroad.

In exchange for writing the letter, the country band is thanking fans with a Southern Ground Compilation CD. The exclusive CD, which is not sold in stores, features three new songs from Zac Brown Band as well as tunes from artists signed to Brown’s label, South Ground Records, including Sonia Leigh, Nic Cowan and Levi Lowrey.

U.S. Ram Truck dealerships are providing special “Letters for Lyrics” stationary in addition to handing out the free CD for every letter turned in. Letters will also be collected at Zac Brown Band concerts. The non-profit organization Soldier’s Angels will then make sure the letters are delivered to the U.S. troops.

Zac Brown Band has another incentive up its sleeves – an exclusive live version of the band’s latest single “Free” will be available for download for the first 100,000 fans through RamTrucks.com. For each download, the Ram Truck Brand will make a donation to Soldier’s Angels, which provides “aid and comfort to the men and women of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, veterans and their families.”

Ram Trucks’ official website will also be hosting documentary footage from the band’s recent USO Tour. The footage will be released in multiple segments so keep checking back at RamTrucks.com.

“Performing with the USO for the men and women in uniform has been a great experience for us. We wanted to find a bigger way to thank them, a way to mobilize people nationwide to show their support for these incredible individuals,” Zac Brown said. “Ram Truck Brand was the perfect partner to realize this dream; not only do they share our commitment to recognize the troops’ service and sacrifice but they are determined to ensure this program helps to send a little piece of home to our service members abroad.”
