Rothbury’s Replacement

Just because the Rothbury festival isn’t coming back to the Lucky Lake Campground in Michigan, doesn’t mean the city of Rothbury is not expected to have a big bash.

Don McCormick has leased his campground site – home of the last two Rothbury fests – to organizer John Kunz of Arrowhead Productions of Comstock Park, who is planning to bring 75 acts to the grounds Aug. 20-22.

Fifty names were announced May 11, including 60 Second Crush, Frequency 54 and Funktion.

The name of the festival is the lilting L3 Lucky Lake Live – Homegrown Michigan Festival. Rothbury, an AEG-promoted event, brought major acts to the area the last three summers.
