Trashcan Sinatras Not Ready For The Junk Pile
The new album for the one-time cover band, In The Music, is yet another reminder of how melodious and lyrically clever the guys can be. In addition to the album’s lead single, “People,” the track list also includes a tribute to Pink Floyd founder Syd Barrett titled “Oranges and Apples” and an ode to Scotland’s famed poet Robert Burns called “I Hung My Harp Upon The Willows.”
The Trashcan Sinatras’ upcoming U.S. tour begins in San Francisco June 1 at Slims, hits San Juan Capistrano for a show at the Coach House June 3 and stops in West Hollywood to play the Key Club June 4. Other stops include Chicago at Schuba’s June 6; Detroit at Magic Stick June 8; Cambridge, Mass., at T.T The Bear’s June 10 and Philadelphia at World Café Live June 13 before coming to a close in D.C. at the Rock & Roll Hotel June 14.
“Touring these new songs is a dream,” guitarist John Douglas said. “We get to groove and be loose and soulful. We’re focused on In The Music, but with the 6-piece band and all the harmonies in full flight, we’re free to indulge in older songs and maybe even a few brand new tunes.”
