After 30 years, five albums, two greats hits collections, six Top 40 hits and becoming a verbal punchline, Wang Chung founders Nick Feldman and Jack Hues are gearing up for a return to the public eye with a new two-disc release, Abducted By The ’80s.

CD One, Wang, features a selection of the band’s biggest hits, including freshly re-recorded versions of “Everybody Have Fun Tonight,” “Dance Hall Days,” “Let’s Go,” and an acoustic version of “To Live and Die in L.A.”

CD Two, Chung, contains brand new songs like “Stargazing,” “London Orbital” and the lead track, “Rent Free,” a clever nod to hits from Wang Chung’s past.

In the years since the band first burst onto the scene with “Everybody Have Fun,” Feldman kept busy writing music like “I Am a Man,” a song he co-wrote with Madness frontman Suggs for the Ralph Fiennes/Uma Thurman film version of “The Avengers.” He also moved behind the scenes in an A&R capacity, beginning with Warner U.K. and then moving to Sony Europe / Sony BMG, where he headed the department and signed acts like Bullet For My Valentine.

Hues focused on soundtracks for films like William Friedkin’s “The Guardian” and briefly joined Tony Banks of Genesis in one-off project Strictly Inc. before forming hybrid-jazz outfit The Quartet and releasing a pair of albums.

The duo began thinking about revisiting the studio as Wang Chung while on the road with the popular Regeneration Tour with other ’80s icons including Martin Frye’s ABC.

Wang Chung will kick off a headlining tour in support of Abducted June 11 at the Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana, Calif., and then make their way across the country stopping at lots of summer festivals along the way.
