Video Diversion: When Bands Go Under Cover
So you’re rocking out with your favorite band. It’s a great night as the group plays all the songs you know and love. Suddenly, a melody emerges from the sound system that sounds somewhat familiar although you’ve never associated the tune with the band onstage. Could it be? Is it? Yes! It’s a cover performance of someone else’s song!
We love covers. Like Tina Turner doing The Who’s “Acid Queen,” Oasis performing “I Am The Walrus” or John Wesley Harding singing “I’m A Believer.” Although, we’re really not sure if Wes is covering Neil Diamond, The Monkees or both.
Cover songs bring new life to old tunes and offer new takes on yesterday’s hits. While you’re watching today’s video diversion, feel free to list your favorite covers in the comment thread below.
