UMass Taps Global Spectrum

The University of Massachusetts at Lowell has chosen Global Spectrum to manage the 7,800-seat Tsongas Center, including day-to-day management, booking, scheduling, marketing, maintenance, contracted services, staffing and other operations.

The university acquired the former Tsongas Arena from the city of Lowell in February. In addition to concerts and family events, the arena hosts the NCAA Div. 1 UMass Lowell River Hawk ice hockey team.

“The Tsongas Center is a beautiful arena with tremendous potential,” Global Spectrum COO John Page said in a statement. “With the synergies we can create in the New England region with several of our current facilities, we will work closely with the university to maximize opportunities for the students, the staff and the surrounding region.”
