Bono Back Surgery
U2 frontman Bono has undergone back surgery in a Munich hospital, forcing the postponement of the band’s first date of its upcoming North American tour leg.
U2 was supposed to open the next leg of its “360 Degree” tour in Salt Lake City June 3. However, this morning Live Nation announced that date will be rescheduled and urged ticket holders to hang on to their ducats until more information can be provided.

From U2.com:
“Bono has today undergone emergency back surgery for an injury sustained during tour preparation training. He was admitted to a specialist neuro surgery unit in a Munich hospital, and is under the care of neurosurgeon Prof. Dr. Jorg Tonn and Dr. Muller Wohlfahrt. Bono will spend the next few days there, before returning home to recuperate.
“Once his condition has been assessed further, a statement will be made regarding the forthcoming tour dates.”
