CBS announced today that Abdul, one of the original judges on Fox TV’s “American Idol, will be a judge on the new program. However, the network has yet to say when the show will debut. Like “American Idol,” “Got To Dance” is an American version of a British TV show. And, like the next season of “American Idol,” “Got To Dance” is 100 percent Simon Cowell-free.

While we contemplate the meaning of Abdul’s return to judging amateurs on TV talent competitions and how it will impact world events, here’s what’s coming up, musically speaking, this week on television.
