Little Opry Arson Unsolved

No arrests have been made yet in the September 2009 arson fire that destroyed the historic Little Nashville Opry in southern Indiana, but a local prosecutor says an investigation is continuing.

Brown County Prosecutor Jim Oliver said May 20 he and his staff continue to work with federal and local authorities to determine who was responsible. Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms investigators determined the fire was arson but haven’t released details.

The 2,000-capacity venue, opened in 1975, has been shuttered since the Sept. 19 blaze that started near the stage just hours after a comedy show had finished. Electrical problems were ruled out as a cause of the fire early in the investigation.
