Gill kicks off the prestigious event June 24, with subsequent Thursday nights through July 29 set to feature Scaggs, McCoury, The Grascals, Dailey & Vincent and many others.

Scruggs’ July 22 show marks the 65th anniversary of the legendary musician’s first performance on the Ryman stage with Bill Monroe. It was December 8, 1945, when the twenty-one-year-old Scruggs helped give birth to bluegrass thanks to his innovative, three-finger roll playing style.

“That historic night laid the foundation for the definitive sound of bluegrass for generations to come,” the venue’s general manager Sally Williams explained.

Although all the shows in the series start at 7:30 p.m., you’ll want to get to the Ryman early to catch 650 AM WSM’s free showcase, “Pickin’ on the Plaza,” which kicks off at 6 p.m. and features regional bluegrass bands performing just outside the main entrance near the statue of Captain Tom G. Ryman.

Tickets start at $26 per show, with a special six-show pass going for $135, and are available at the Ryman box office or online at Ryman.com.
