I Was A Mule For The Rolling Stones

A television actor says he was carrying contraband for The Rolling Stones back in the 1970s when he was only 8 years old. If this was about any other band, some moral outrage would be expected. But hey, we’re talking about The Stones. And the ‘70s.

The actor is Jake Weber, who plays Patricia Arquette’s husband in the NBC show “Medium.” Back when The Rolling Stones were recording Exile On Main Street at Keith Richards’ home in France, Weber’s father, the late socialite Tommy Weber, was tasked with supplying drugs for the band.

Youngster Weber appears in the documentary “Stones In Exile,” which documents the recording of Exile On Main Street and everything that went on between takes. Mick Jagger insisted Weber be included, telling director Stephan Kijak the film needed “the 8-year-old perspective,” according to London’s Times.

Weber wasn’t the only kid at Richards’ French villa / tax haven. Kijak said many of the people present for the recording sessions had children.

“No matter how big a rock star you are, when you have got 7-year-olds jumping up and down on the bed in the morning, demanding ice cream, everything stops,” Kijak said, according to the Times.

It turns out Weber, who says rolling joints for the band “was pretty much my function at that point,” was also a key player at Jagger and Bianca Pérez Morena de Macías 1971 wedding in Saint Tropez, France. His job? Bringing cocaine across the border into France.

We’re betting young Weber had the best tale to tell when his teacher asked the class about what they did during their summer vacations.
