Win For Henley
Don Henley has reportedly won a judgment against Republican senatorial candidate Chuck DeVore regarding a dispute involving two Henley songs.
DeVore has been appropriating, and reworking, “All She Wants To Do Is Dance” and “The Boys of Summer” in his campaign.

At issue was whether Assemblyman DeVore’s appropriation of music and rewriting of lyrics to mock U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer and President Barack Obama is a parody, and thus a fair use of the works, or satire that potentially infringes copyright.
U.S. District Court Judge James Selna ruled June 2 it was the latter, saying the songs failed to mock the song or the songwriter – a definition of parody.
