Former Stereophonics Drummer Dies

Stuart Cable, the Welsh drummer who co-founded Stereophonics with singer / guitarist Kelly Jones in 1992, has died. He was 40.

Cable’s body was discovered early this morning at his home in Aberdare, about 165 miles west of London. According to South Wales Police, the cause of death has not been determined but there is no evidence of foul play or suspicious circumstances.

Cable reportedly left Stereophonics in 2003 and recently formed a new band, Killing For Company which is scheduled to play England’s Download Festival June 12. He also worked in broadcasting and had a show on BBC Radio Wales.
