Inaugural Superfest A Hit
Organizers of the Bayou Country Superfest in Baton Rouge, La., have the proclaimed the event a success, reportedly drawing more than 85,000 people May 29-30 at Louisiana State University’s
The festival, put on by a partnership between AEG Live, The Messina Group and Festival Productions, featured top-name acts including Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn, Kellie Pickler and Gloriana.
“A truly great festival requires great artists, a great venue, great sponsors, and most important of all, great fans,” Festival Productions’ CEO Quint Davis said in a statement. “The 2010 Bayou Country Superfest had it all.”
The festival was reportedly the first concert held at the 91,600-capacity Tiger Stadium.
Davis, whose company also produces the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, said Superfest will again take place next year May 28-29.
However, the venue and other details will be announced at a later date after an economic impact report on the event is completed.
