Bob Williams, president of Philips Arena in Atlanta, has also been named president of the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks and executive VP of parent company Atlanta Spirit.

He will oversee team operations as well as the arena, home to the Hawks and NHL’s Atlanta Thrashers.

Williams has been with Philips Arena since it opened in 1999 and the Hawks since 1975.
