Gone In 600 Seconds

How long did it take CMT to give away tickets for Jimmy Buffett’s free concert on the Gulf Coast? About as fast as you’d expect.

But if you need a specific time span, CMT says all tickets were distributed via Ticketmaster in just under 10 minutes. However, the country music cable channel did not specify how many tickets were made available so there’s no word on the total number given out or how many ducats moved per minute.

The concert, billed as “CMT Presents Jimmy Buffett & Friends Live From The Gulf Coast,” takes place July 1 on the beach in Gulf Shores, Ala. The “friends” in the title refers to appearances by Kenny Chesney, Zac Brown Band, Allen Toussaint, Sonny Landreth and Jesse Winchester plus additional guests. The concert is being organized to show support for everyone affected by the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, including residents, businesses and the “culture of the Gulf Coast.”

Part of the show will air live on CMT from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. EDT. Performances will simulcast on satellite radio broadcasters Sirius and XM as well as stream on CMT.com. Just click here for more info.
