Nederlander Sues Jackson Estate

The Nederlander Organization is suing the estate of Michael Jackson over a contract that gave the Broadway theater operator the rights to create a show based on the King of Pop’s music.

In a suit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court June 17, the company asked the court to order Jackson’s executors to uphold the contract and to bar them from licensing Jackson’s songs to another party for use in a musical, the New York Times reported.

The Jackson estate announced a deal with Cirque du Soleil in April to create two productions based on Jackson’s catalog.
