No Night At The Museum For Furthur

Fearing hordes of ticketless fans descending upon their community, the town of Shelburne, Vt., has nixed a Furthur concert that was scheduled for July 5.

The show was to take place at the Shelburne Museum. However, on Friday museum spokeswoman Leslie Wright announced the cancellation, saying there wasn’t an adequate security plan.

But that doesn’t mean the band will take the night of July 5 off. Furthur, which features former Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh and guitarist Bob Weir, will play The Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, Pa., on July 5.

The band posted a message on its website saying it could not find a suitable venue in Vermont on such short notice and apologized to its fans in the Green Mountain State.

Refunds for the canceled Shelburne show are available at point of purchase. Meanwhile, the Stroudsburg show is completely sold out, according to Furthur.net. Click here for more info.
