Guess Crows singer Adam Duritz decided that last summer’s tour name – “The Traveling Circus & Medicine Show” just wasn’t long enough and tacked “The Saturday Night Rebel Rockers” on the front just to make this year’s outing extra-special for sign painters and ticket printers.

Like last year’s outing, Counting Crows will be joined by Augustana as well as a few other guests. Also, like last year’s tour, you don’t want to walk into the venue fashionably late because both Augustana and Counting Crows will walk out onstage at the designated show time and perform a few numbers together.

Adding a taste of hip-hop to the outing will be Notar, who’s currently finishing his debut album, Devil’s Playground.

“Nowadays people think they can only love one kind of music but I want to show them that they can love it all the way I do,” Duritz said. “I don’t know how these different bands are going to fit in one show together but I didn’t know last year either and it was a blast.”

Duritz isn’t going to have to wait much longer to find out how it all fits. The tour opens this Saturday in Milwaukee at Summerfest.

Stops also include Minneapolis at Taste Of Minnesota July 4; Kansas City at Starlight Theatre July 6 and Windsor, Ont., at Caesars “The Colosseum” July 8. Other towns on the routing include Charlotte, Baltimore, Atlantic City, Atlanta, Orlando and Highland Park, Ill., near Chicago.
