Meet Aretha’s New Concert Partner

Aretha Franklin is getting political by joining forces with Condoleeza Rice for a benefit concert later this month in the city of Brotherly Love.

“Rice is a consummate classical pianist,” Franklin said in a statement. “Since I sing the arias, I thought that we could do something, a bipartisan effort for our favorite charities.”

Aretha will show off tunes from her new album, A Woman Falling Out of Love, and Rice will perform selections from Mozart and more. Rice will also accompany Franklin on piano as the soul signer wows the crowd with her classic hits including “Say A Little Prayer” and “Natural Woman.”

Proceeds from the performance benefit programs supporting inner city children as well as The Mann Center education programs.

Tickets are available through the Mann Center’s website and are priced at $95, $75 and $50 with lawn seating available for $24.
