Lilith Cancels 10 Dates

The return of Lilith, the touring festival co-founded by Sarah McLachlan and featuring women artists, has reacted to soft ticket sales by canceling 10 dates.

In an announcement posted on the tour’s website Thursday, organizers said Salt Lake City, Utah (July 12), Montreal, Que. (July 23), Raleigh, N.C. (Aug. 4), Charlotte, N.C. (Aug. 6), Florida towns West Palm Beach (Aug. 10) and Tampa (Aug. 11) and Texas cities Austin (Aug. 14), Houston (Aug. 15) and Dallas (Aug. 16) have been dropped from this year’s routing.

Refunds are available at point of purchase.

Lilith cofounder Terry McBride described the current concert environment as “one of the most challenging summer concert seasons with many tours being canceled outright.”

“Everyone involved with the tour would like to apologize to the fans and artists scheduled to play in these markets, and express appreciation for all the support for the festival’s return,” McBride said. “Lilith remains the only tour of its kind, and we are confident that fans will be amazed by what each date has to offer.”

More than 9,000 fans attended Lilith’s launch in Calgary June 27. The tour plays Ridgefield, Wash., tonight at the Sleep Country Amphitheatre.
