No Lilith For Clarkson
It’s no secret Lilith ticket sales aren’t exactly what organizers were expecting. Which is why they scratched 10 markets from the routing only yesterday – Salt Lake City, Montreal, Raleigh, Charlotte, Birmingham, West Palm Beach, Tampa, Austin, Houston and Dallas.
But what caught our eye when we read the announcement of the canceled shows was a line stating, “In light of these cancellations, some artists who were set to appear later in the tour may be performing in other cities.”
In other words, some artists scheduled to appear may change their minds after hearing about the cancellations. That’s perfectly understandable. Some artists may have scheduled their Lilith appearances in relation to other concert gigs or other professional commitments and the canceled Lilith shows might affect their own touring logistics or other plans.
Artists like Kelly Clarkson, who was scheduled to play 14 Lilith dates.
The singer posted an announcement on her website today saying she’s decided not to tour this year.
From KellyClarkson.com:
“With the news of canceled Lilith dates and my current progress in the studio, we’ve made the decision not to tour this summer. I’m going to miss seeing y’all, but I hope that when you hear what we’ve been working on, you’ll be as excited as I am. I’ve been working with some amazing people and am stoked about this next album!”
Meanwhile, you can add another canceled market to the list of Lilith shows that were not meant to be. The tour has nixed the last date on the schedule – Aug. 8 in Atlanta at Aaron’s Amphitheatre At Lakewood.
Making up for the bad news is word that Sarah McLachlan will perform at Atlanta’s Chastain Park Aug. 5. Fans who previously purchased tickets for Lilith’s Atlanta stop will have an opportunity to purchase tickets for the Aug. 5 McLachlan show in a presale beginning July 14 at 10 a.m. The public onsale begins July 17 at 10 a.m. All times Eastern Daylight.
