Plant’s Fall U.K. Excursion

A Robert Plant United Kingdom tour consisting of only four dates may not seem like a big outing, but it’s the skill of the artist, not the length of the tour that counts.

So far, it looks as if U.K. fans will have only four chances to see him this fall when the famed Led Zeppelin frontman plays London’s HMV Forum Sept. 2; Cardiff’s St. David’s Hall Oct. 26; Birmingham’s Symphony Hall Oct. 27 and Manchester’s Palace Theatre Oct. 31.

Plant is touring in support of his upcoming album, Band Of Joy, scheduled for a Sept. 14 release. Plant, as well as then-future Zep drummer John Bonham, were members of a group called Band Of Joy back in the ‘60s. However, the album title refers more to an all-encompassing umbrella name for the musicians Plant is working with these days instead of a throwback to the rocker’s pre-Zep heritage.
