Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC is making quite a name for itself, according to the Los Angeles Times.

HTC is the maker of the Evo, the other name in the YouTube hit video “HTC Evo vs. iPhone4,” where an animated salesman tries to talk a customer out of the iPhone and buy the Korean product instead.

The Evo boasts voice recognition, Google’s Android operating system and is one of the first on the market to access the 4G network.

HTC is already fourth in North American smartphone sales, with a 9.8 market share, behind Research in Motion (makers of the BlackBerry), Apple and Motorola, according to Gartner.
