Charlie Louvin Has Cancer

Country Music Hall of Famer Charlie Louvin is to undergo surgery for pancreatic cancer July 22, and his manager says doctors expect him to make a full recovery.

The 83-year-old Louvin, one-half of The Louvin Brothers with his older brother Ira, is to release a Gram Parsons tribute, Hickory Wind, July 20, and has continued to tour.

He had a tour planned to start July 21 but was forced to cancel, his manager said.
