Virgin Mobile Sponsors Splendour

Virgin Mobile will sponsor the 10th Splendour In The Grass for the first time, but that doesn’t mean the end of V Fest in Australia.

During the three-day event (July 30 to Aug. 1), its customers will have exclusive access to glamorous bathrooms, an express queue at the Saloon Bar and a phone-charging venue that sells pre-paid credit.

Virgin Mobile will also make available to non-customers 1,000 branded tents and branded shuttle buses to get around the 5km festival and camping ground in Woodfordia, Queensland.

Virgin Mobile was quick to emphasise that this shift in sponsorship does not mark the end of V Fest in Australia. This year’s event was canceled when co-promoter Michael Coppel Presents pulled out.

Its parent, Virgin Enterprises, is still negotiating with other promoters for the 2011 event, a representative said.
