Mayer Treats Fans To Backstage Tour

John Mayer gives fans a glimpse behind the curtain as he hosts a backstage tour beginning at 4 p.m. Eastern time.

The exclusive live webcast streams from Wantagh, N.Y., where Mayer is playing the Nikon @Jones Beach Theater tonight. Immediately following the backstage tour fans will be able to watch Mayer perform a short acoustic set during soundcheck.

This afternoon’s webcast is the last of spur-of-the-moment Internet events for Mayer. One hour before his Raleigh, N.C., show, Mayer announced he would stream live his first song of the evening, resulting in 67,000 tuning in. The following night Mayer’s management tweeted that part of that evening’s show in Virginia Beach would be streamed live, attracting 9,000 viewers within 10 minutes.
