The Menzingers and Fake Problems appear Sept. 4-30.
The band’s tour announcement tagged the Radio City date as including “special guests.” While that could be any of the band’s many fans within the music community, one can’t help but wonder if one of those special guests might be New Jersey favorite son Bruce Springsteen.
Springsteen has gigged with the band in the past and can be seen sharing the mic with Gaslight frontman Brian Fallon for “No Surrender” on Springsteen & The E Street Band’s “London Calling: Live In Hyde Park” concert DVD.
While many of the shows on The Gaslight Anthem’s fall tour are all ages, a few are noted as 18, 19 or 21-and-over, so be sure to check with your local venue if you think age might be an issue.
The last two years for the band almost seem like a movie script. Having released The ’59 Sound in 2008, the band constantly toured while sales of the album grew quietly until one day it seemed to be on just about every critic’s “best of” list. Just goes to show that a solid album backed by plenty of performances can still make a difference.
But you don’t have to wait until fall to see the band. The Gaslight Anthem plays The Wiltern in Los Angeles tonight, then heads up the coast to San Jose for a show at Plaza de Cesar Chavez July 22 and appears on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” July 23.
