TLC Sticking With Success

The two surviving members of TLC, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, finished a 13-show club tour of Japan last week, with 11 shows in Tokyo and two in Osaka.

Several of the Tokyo shows were sold out despite the 14,000 yen ($161) ticket price.

The willingness of Japanese fans to pay such a high price to see two-thirds of one of the ’90s biggest R&B acts had everything to do with why the duo is only touring Japan for the time being.

In interviews, the two women have said that they wouldn’t be able to make enough money touring the U.S.

They reportedly came close to opening for Alicia Keys’ tour.
