Rimrock Rebuild Moves Forward

Yellowstone County officials accepted a recommendation July 22 on an architect to rebuild the tornado-damaged Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark in Billings, Mont.

County finance director Scott Turner and selection committee members have recommended CTA Architects Engineers for the job.

Officials are reportedly working with CTA on the details of that contract. The commission also hopes to award a general contracting bid by Aug. 3.

The 12,000-capacity venue has been shut down since June 20 when a tornado moving through the area dropped golf ball-sized hail and torrential rains and tore the roof off the building.
