Set your calendar for Oct. 2 and your GPS for Milwaukee, Wisc., for the annual concert created to help America’s farmers. Founded by Nelson, Mellencamp and Neil Young, the first Farm Aid took place in Champaign, Ill., at Memorial Stadium Sept. 22, 1985 and featured a wide variety of country and rock. The Beach Boys, Alabama, Don Henley, Tanya Tucker, Lou Reed, John Denver, Vince Gill, Billy Joel, Kenny Rogers and Foreigner as well as Eddie Van Halen performing with  Sammy Hagar, were just a few of the bands and artists on that very first Farm Aid lineup.

Not much has been released about “Farm Aid 25: Growing Hope For America” other than the date and city. For venue and lineup we’ll have to wait until next week’s webcast taking place Monday, Aug. 2 at 11 a.m. CDT on the concert / organization’s website.
