Deadmau5 Cancels Dates

Exhaustion has apparently taken its toll on Deadmau5, forcing the electronic music performer to cancel hows in Canada, Japan and Europe.

Deadmau5, whose real name is Joel Thomas Zimmerman, collapsed onstage Friday night while performing at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. After medics rushed him to the hospital doctors diagnosed him as suffering from exhaustion

The unexpected hospital stay has forced Deadmau5 to cancel dates through Aug. 18, including Japan’s Summer Sonic festivals in Osaka and Tokyo Aug. 7-8, Cream at Amnesia Ibiza Aug. 12; Cocorico in Riccione, Italy, Aug. 13; Papaya Summer Festival in Croatia, Aug. 14; Sziget Festival in Budapest Aug. 15; Cavo Paradiso in Mykonos, Greece, Aug. 17 and Opium Mar in Barcelona Aug. 18.

Deadmau5’s representatives point out that only the above dates, as well as Aug. 1 at the Osheaga Music & Arts Festval in Montreal, are affected and that the artist will play his October North America dates, including Austin City Limits Music Festival Oct. 10, the Treasure Island Music Festival in San Francisco Oct. 16 and a multiple night run at New York’s Roseland Ballroom Oct. 28-30.

Deadmau5 hopes to reschedule the cities missed by the cancellations.
