Thievery Corporation / Massive Attack Target Fall Run

With shows scheduled for both coasts plus a few in between, Thievery Corporation and Massive Attack join forces for a co-headline romp beginning in mid-October in Montreal.

It’s a meeting of beats from both sides of the Atlantic, with the DC-based Thievery Corporation team of Rob Garza and Eric Hilton joined by 15 musicians plus additional performers. The group’s latest CD, It Takes A Thief, drops Sept. 21 on Thievery Corporation’s own label, ESL Music.

U.K.’ Massive Attack, structured around Robert Del Naja and Grant Marshall, released its fifth studio album, Heligoland, earlier this year, a best selling effort that includes guest appearances by Elbow’s Guy Garvey and Damon Albarn from Blur and Gorillaz.

A somewhat short outing lasting only three weeks, the tour begins in Montreal at the Bell Centre Oct. 18. Next up is Boston at the Orpheum Theatre Oct. 19 followed by two nights in New York City at the Beacon Theatre Oct. 21-22.

Other stops are Atlantic City at the Borgata Casino, Hotel & Spa Oct. 23; Asheville, N.C., at Oct. 30; Dallas at the Palladium Ballroom Nov. 1; San Diego at the RIMAC Arena Nov. 4; Santa Barbara at the Santa Barbara Bowl Nov. 5; Berkeley at the Greek Theatre Nov. 6 and Universal City at the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk Nov. 7.
