Kate Nash North American Tour
The 23-year-old English singer-songwriter is touring in support of her sophomore album, My Best Friend Is You. The indie pop album, which was released this spring, was produced by former Suede guitarist Bernard Butler and recorded at RAK studios in the U.K.
The Guardian praises My Best Friend Is You as a “substantial progression” from her award-winning 2007 debut album, writing that she is “far more daring a writer and singer.”
Pitchfork.com likes that the new album is “thrillingly schizophrenic. There’s the brash riot grrrl who shrieks expletive-strewn girl-power polemic – clearly, a new addition. But there’s also the warts’n’all diarist whose keenly observed romantic vignettes made Nash an Internet sensation in the first place. And, of course, there’s still plenty of piano-pop approachability.”
The fall North American tour kicks off Oct. 27 at House of Blues in San Diego and wraps up Nov. 20 at Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, N.J.
Nash will also be making stops at The Music Box in Los Angeles (Oct. 29), Showbox At The Market in Seattle (Nov. 2), In The Venue in Salt Lake City (Nov. 5), Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto (Nov. 13) and Terminal 5 in New York (Nov. 19).
Tickets go on sale this week.
