Ladies and Gentlemen …

The 1972 concert film “Ladies and Gentlemen: The Rolling Stones” has been re-mastered in HD and is returning to theatres around the globe for a very limited run this September.

The film gives fans a front row look at the band’s 1972 tour supporting Exile on Main St.

“Ladies and Gentlemen: The Rolling Stones” was recorded during four nights of performances in Houston and Fort Worth, Texas and features 15 songs including “Brown Sugar,” “Street Fighting Man,” “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” and “Jumpin’ Jack Flash.”

The first screening took place April 15, 1974 at Ziegfeld Theatre in New York and was originally only released to theaters with quadraphonic sound, according to Gibson.com.

The re-mastered version will feature an introduction by Mick Jagger in an interview recorded last summer at London’s Dorchester Hotel. The singer will “reflect on memories of life on tour during this legendary time and will also update audiences on where the beloved Rolling Stones band members are now,” according to Fathom Events, which is presenting the film along with Omniverse Vision and Eagle Rock Entertainment. New material will also include tour rehearsal footage from Montreux, Switzerland, and Jagger’s 1972 “Old Grey Whistle Test” interview.

In the U.S. the film will hit theatres for just one night – Thursday, Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m. local time.

“Ladies and Gentlemen: The Rolling Stones” will be screened in the United Kingdom Sept. 16-17 and 21. The film will be shown throughout Europe in select countries Sept. 16, 18, 23 and 29.

A DVD and Blu-ray version of the film will be released later in the fall.
