Pearl

Yes, Pearl frontwoman Pearl Aday is the daughter of Marvin Aday, better known as Meat Loaf. And yes, she is married to Anthrax frontman Scott Ian. Getting that out of the way is important, because Pearl brings the goods in her own right.

According to co-manager Matt Hanrahan of Career Artist Management, she “literally slept in a guitar case” as a child and spent 11 years on the road singing behind her dad and for Mötley Crüe before releasing her debut album, Little Immaculate White Fox.

Agent Jenny McPhee says Pearl’s amazingly versatile voice is suited to the Gibson Amphitheatre stage and more intimate shows. “She really commands the stage and is doing something nobody else is doing,” McPhee told Pollstar.

Hanrahan acknowledges that Pearl’s pedigree and life growing up in the industry creates a curiosity about her that gets butts in seats, but “halfway through her first song, it’s all about her,” he told Pollstar. And she works as hard as she rocks.

“I’ve managed a lot of artists over the years and sometimes talent is the first thing that catches you or sometimes it’s the work ethic; but rarely do you get them at the same time,” Hanrahan said.

Pearl’s band includes Scott Ian of Anthrax, Jim Wilson and Marcus Blake of the Rollins Band, and Fall Out Boy’s Andy Hurley.
