The 25-year-old relationship featuring Penn and his ponytail came to an end this week as the magician gave it up for Locks Of Love, a nonprofit organization that provides hairpieces to disadvantaged children suffering from cancer who have lost their hair because of chemotherapy treatments.

So off it came. As detailed in the video embedded below, a stylist prepped Penn’s hair for the big goodbye. However, the actual deed was performed by Penn’s partner in comedy magic, Raymond Teller, who, as usual, didn’t say a word during the entire process.

Jillette said he decided to part with his ponytail after learning about a Rio Las Vegas Hotel & Casino employee’s granddaughter who had begun chemo treatments.
