The upcoming “Truth In Immigration” concert benefiting the Mexican American Legal Defense And Educational Fund (MALDEF) is scheduled for Sept. 28 at the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk. Proceeds will help MALDEF’s “Truth In Immigration Campaign” which works with Latino immigrants.

As you can probably guess, MALDEF isn’t exactly thrilled with new Arizona law SB 1070 which authorizes police in that state to question anyone suspected of being in the U.S. illegally. A portion of the concert’s proceeds will go to helping the organization permanently block SB 1070 from the Arizona law books.
